The Biliary System

by Dr. Paul S. Inselman

The biliary system is comprised of the gall bladder and liver. The liver produces bile which is stored in the gall bladder. Bile is a bitter-tasting, dark green to yellowish brown fluid that aids the process of digestion of fats in the small intestine gallbladder problems are one of the most common health problems today. The most common symptoms are right shoulder pain, accompanied by gas, and stomach pain. Gallbladder problems usually affect fat, fertile females, over the age of forty.

Gallstones are very common and affect women more than men in about a 2:1 ratio. It is interesting to note that gallstones usually do not cause symptoms until the bile duct is occluded. What that means is most people in our society have gallstones and don’t even know it until it is too late. Once the presence of gallstones is confirmed, the usual procedure is to schedule surgical removal of the gallbladder. Over 600,000 cholecystectomies are performed in this country every year despite overwhelming evidence that most are not necessary.

To help support the digestive system it is imperative that you fully digest your food. You need to take digestive enzymes because they are systematically removed from our food supply to increase shelf life.

Food enzymes live in all raw food. Food enzymes are responsible for the initiation of digestion. As a matter of fact the process of digestion begins with us eating a raw food that is rich in food enzymes. As we bite and chew we mix the surface area of the foods with the enzymes to get predigestion of our food. Now we swallow the predigested food and 30-45 minutes later our body releases its own digestive enzymes to FINISH THE JOB. Next in the process of normal digestion, the nutrients are taken up and the waste products are removed. If the food enzymes were removed from your food via cooking, micro waving or processing then you body has to perform the entire job of digestion. If the body is forced to perform the entire job, it will be forced to overwork. Remember anything that overworks becomes stressed. Anything stressed for a long enough period of time will be prone to breaking down. When the human body breaks down it becomes sick and diseased.

Natural Enzymes is the logical first step in insuring that you are getting the food enzymes that nature intended but which have been systematically removed via cooking, micro waving, antibiotics, pesticides, and irradiation.
